Fonts
If you’re like me, you are a font hoarder. My collection is over 28K and counting. Yes, I have an addictions to fonts. Seriously, I really don’t have an addiction to fonts, but I am a collector. I collect fonts for several reasons, but mainly because I am a digital artist and typography can add so much to your project. Here are a few tips I’ve learned along the way when dealing with a massive font collection:
- Always keep your fonts organized. This means buy a font organizer to help you add fonts.
- Never back fonts to a CD and import to your new computer more than twice. If you do this, you will need a program to help you find duplicate files.
- Fonts are fairly easy to install, so only install the fonts you use.
- Only install the fonts you need. Again, I cannot stress enough the importance of a font organizer.
- If you work with Mac and PC like I do, get a font converter so you can use the fonts on both systems.
- Use your favorite search engine to find font resources for your project. There are plenty of people who share fonts for free. Make sure to thank them.
